The stairs leading toward the Plaza España in Santo Domingo, shot at 300mm to flatten the perspective.
Fortaleza Ozama, a fortress built in 1502. It's on a steep hill above a river, and from here the Spanish launched conquests to what became Jamaica, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, and Columbia. It's the oldest colonial military building in the western hemisphere, built here because it's where Christopher Columbus first came.
An old door surrounded by locally quarried stone from a building that's been there 500+ years.
Near midnight, in practically pitch dark, I experimented on this old stone fort with wooden closures and steel bar frame. I used two radio (Canon ST-E3-RT Speedlite Transmitter) controlled lights (Canon Speedlight 600 EX-RT x2), both off-camera, to achieve the effect.
